Build confidence and core MTB skills in a fun and supportive environment. Perfect for beginner and novice riders aged 7-10, this camp covers the essential skills every mountain biker needs for safe and enjoyable trail riding. We cover the fundamentals - body position, braking, balance, gear use, climbing and descending, cornering, and navigating obstacles - and spend plenty of time practising on the trail. Riders will be grouped by age and ability. Who is this camp for? - Kids who can ride a bike but have little or no off-road experience - Riders new to MTB skills coaching - Those who'd benefit from reinforcing foundational techniques - Confident riders lacking formal technique What to bring: Mountain bike with two working hand brakes, helmet (AS/NZS 2063 approved), gloves, hydration pack or water bottle + small backpack, snacks & lunch, spare inner tube, spare warm clothing and rain jacket. Optional: elbow and knee pads. Meeting point: the grass area just north of the Austrian Club (20 Grattan Crescent), beside Ararat Reserve.
